Jason Wolthuizen
I.A.I. Insurance Assurance Inspection

Jason is a local boy with a revolutionary idea. A writer since the age of 12 and a movie maker during his twenties, he has always demonstrated ambition and zest for life. After reading an article which implied a huge shortage of licensed trades people Jason became a Gas Technician. Once licensed, he worked as an installer of Carrier furnaces and air conditioners as well as Napoleon and Valor fireplaces. Jason then became a New Construction Inspector and Contract Emergency Response Gas Technician for Enbridge in the city of Scarborough . It was there he came to realize there was a serious lack of education regarding the responsibilities associated with gas appliances. From this I.A.I was born.

When was the last time you read (and completely comprehended) every word of your home insurance policy? Jason has spent over four years studying the fine print of insurance policies, mortgage contracts and appliance instruction manuals. "Not Withstanding Neglect", are three words you will find, as a standard clause approved by The Insurance Bureau of Canada, in the fine print of your policy. But what is considered neglect? And how could this statement put your insurance claim at risk? As far as appliance manufacturers are concerned, if an appliance isn't checked every year the appliance warranty is void because it has been neglected. Because their position is the only documented precedent defining appliance neglect, legally, if an accident occurs and this has not been done your insurance is void and a claim may be denied!

To resolve these issue I.A.I technicians, on a yearly basis, do a 23 point inspection of your gas supply system, furnace and other gas appliances. "Appliance cleaning is not unique" you say? .Ah but . Here is where I.A.I's approach is different and of value. I.A.I is the only company who has copy written as a product the creation of comprehensive custom insurance specific documentation which is to be filed with both your insurance provider and Mortgage Company. This is done so it can be verified you have met your obligation as required by their policy. As a non-licensed person there is nothing more to be questioned or that they can expect you to do.

Your cost for the service of assuring your insurance provider you have met your obligation is only $99.00 for the first appliance with reduced rates for each additional unit inspected. When you compare that with the up to $150.00 you could pay for inspections that only provide a receipt stating "furnace cleaned or servicing completed", .There is no contest!

Jason is lobbying to educate the public about the seriousness of this issue. His goal is to use his copyright to have I.A.I documentation become the industry standard. "The intention is to create a bridge between insurance providers, mortgage holders and home owners so that all of their interests and investments are protected". Jason knows how hard it is to get established but plans to have I.A.I registered representatives, using his model, paperwork and promotional material, in every city within the country within the next four years. To help reach this goal he is looking for other licensed gas contractors who are interested in building their business and can see the potential of using this product as a way to generate new customers.

Jason shares with everyone who asks. "Ignore all the negative people; they only distract you from success. Always aim high, remain patient, and stay focused. Be sure of your position before you to take that first step. Apple computer started in a garage. Even if the idea isn't profitable nothing can take away the person you become once you've tried and know you can."
