Andre Jackman, owner of The Climate Controllers moved to the Lindsay area approximately 32 years ago and started the business. As a mechanical engineer at Algoma Steel, he was responsible for the maintenance of the air conditioning and refrigeration equipment throughout the plant. While at Algoma Steel he gained a vast wealth of knowledge about the industry. Andre chose to come to Lindsay to set up the business because it was a great place to raise a family. He is a very proud father and grand-father. His two daughters both graduated as Doctors.
The Climate Controllers is a Premier dealer for Lennox Comfort Products and offering a complete line of heating, air conditioning and indoor quality products. The Climate Controllers offers maintenance and service on all brands of heating and air conditioning equipment, including 24 hour emergency service.
Andre has trained many apprentices and insists that his technicians keep up with the latest technology. He was very active in the Victoria Haliburton Training Council as an instructor. On staff they have a senior sheet metal mechanic, two refrigeration mechanics and three gas fitters II, and one gas fitter I. They are licensed to work on natural gas, propane, oil, heat pumps, air conditioners and commercial refrigeration.
The Climate Controllers have recently renovated their offices located at 81 William St. North in Lindsay. Their facilities include a large parts and equipment storage, a fully operational sheet metal shop as well as a showroom and offices. Andre says that this is an excellent time to start shopping for air conditioning and have it installed before the first heat wave.
